Nagarjuna’s Shirdi Sai that is made in the direction of K Raghavendra
Rao is seeing unusual business. Generally Nag’s films will have a
market value of Rs 60-70 lakh in Bangalore but Shirdi Sai was sold out
at Rs 1.4 Cr. The rights for Vizag were lifted at Rs 2 Cr while in
general, for Nag’s films it will be Rs 50 lakh- 1 Cr. Nellore rights
were sold out at Rs 1 Cr and the satellite rights were bagged by MAA TV
at whopping Rs 6 Cr in unimaginable way.
A Mahesh Reddy, the ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba made this film with a huge budget of Rs 26 Cr as per sources.
Knowing that Nagarjuna’s earlier two devotional films ‘Annamayya’ and
‘Sri Ramadasu’ were big successes, the buyers are very confident that
‘Shirdi Sai’ will rock the box office with a bigger devotional fervor.
On the other hand, he got the rarest opportunity to make the gopuram
of Shirdi Sai temple covered with gold. Indeed, it is true that there
are many people in India those are ready to shell crores of rupees for
Shirdi Sai temple to make anything gold. But only a few get the
opportunity from temple authorities and AMR got it. He says that he is
going to donate every single penny earned on Shirdi Sai movie to the
development of Shirdi Sai temple and facilities for devotees.
